Spring is here!

We are so excited that spring is here... We love our "popcorn" tree in the back and are loving the smell of our lilacs .
Tennis is in full swing and Kara has really improved this year. She loves playing the sport and loves that she play with her friend Jenessa.

 We love family fun time..
We had a fun afternoon playing at the park and catching Rio 2 at the movies... oh and of course ate way too much popcorn...

An aunt on my dad's side, passed away suddenly. It worked out that Drew and I could take off and go down for the funeral (thanks to Pat and Steve)...
It was good to see so much family that I hadn't seen in years.
We left on Tue afternoon (5:30pm), made it to Ogden by 10.. and we went right to bed... Then we were up and met family and to the funeral by 9:30am... After the funeral we had lunch with my brothers and sister and mom, then hit the road for home.. We made it home by 6:30 so I could get to YW...   So we called it a 25 hour date.
Young Women's is my new calling. I get to be over the Beehives (12-13 year old girls)
Kara is really excited to have me in there with her, and Aub is excited to join us in Dec. I am so glad my girls get to be a part of such a great program that will help them learn and grow about themselves and develop strong testimonies of the Gospel.

Random happenings

Okay- So this post is a little out of order.. I had uploaded the pictures and thought I would come back and write about it, and here we are 2 months later... But my plan is to maybe put this blog into a book and these are things that would add to that...
SO.
In a nut shell..

Here are my beautiful flowers for V-day...
Kara and Shae going to do baptisms for the dead.
The ice is off the pool, so we checked on it.
Chocolate cake for Grandpa's birthday.
Aub and Brae are super smart and great at school!
Brae had a cute 2nd grade program and speaking part.
Aubree finished her PACE project and dressed up like Abigail Adams for a wax museum.

A few more March happenings

With a little help from Brae and jumping on the tramp together, Hallie lost her first top tooth..

This year I tried to add a little fun to our St. Patrick's day dinner... We had a yummy pork roast, green jello, broccoli, and green deviled eggs... Oh, and rolls....
We waited for dessert because we were having a special FHE with the missionaries and a new member of our ward. I made a fruit rainbow with fruit dip... No picture of that because it got eaten too fast.. but it was cute and yummy..

Aub had a 5th grade field trip to the State Capital. We got a great tour of the building, then had lunch on the lawn and then the kids sang a few songs... Aub didn't feel the best but was a trooper to stick it out. During one of the songs, I could see her turn white, and start to get that hot sweat look. I motioned her down and we ran to the bathroom... She didn't throw up which was good... We rode the bus home and then I checked her out of school for the rest of the day.  Field trips are always fun with the kids... Crazy... but fun...

We have a TEENAGER!

Kara turned 13 on March 14th... (pi day)
She had a great day and woke to the fun surprise of Gma and Gpa Roll being here! She begged to open a present before school and was happy to have a new ipod case!
She spent the day at school, then we attended the 101 Dalmation play that Aub and Brae were in.. (a post to come about that soon)
After the play we enjoyed opening more presents and cheese cake!
It was fun having both sides of grandparents here to celebrate with her.
(I wish I would have gotten a picture of her with them all)

Kara is a beautiful girl, inside and out. She has a tender heart and is growing in the gospel. She loves to step up and serve when there is an opportunity, she reads her scriptures morning and night, and is striving to work on her personal progress goals.  She is loved by her leaders and friends.  She knows what is right and is doing great at not "following the crowd" and stands out in her own quiet way.
She is a great example to her sisters. She is loving school choir and still plays the piano, but hates to practice. It is so nice to have her as a built in sister sitter, so Drew and I can go out.
We love her so much and are so proud of the young woman she is developing into.
Happy 13th Birthday!

Hallie is SIX

 This crazy girl turned SIX!
Seriously..
where is the time going.
Our youngest is 6!
She is so fun and always keeps us laughing.
She loves school and is loving learning to read.
She is very social with her friends and loves to have play dates.
She is really into horses right now and loves playing with her "American Girl" size dolls. She loves to play "family" and loves doing homework.
She is a big tease to her dad and loves to snuggle with mom to watch TV.
She had a great day.
She was sung to at school, and gave everyone in her class a sugar cookie.
We then took her and her two best friends to lunch at BK. and they got to play for a few hours.
We had a nice family dinner and then the Matthews joined us for cake and ice cream.
Happy Birthday miss Hallie!
