School is out and summer is officially here!
We have been so excited for our trip to visit the Lucas family in Pleasanton, California! We headed out (June 6), Saturday morning about 6:30am, picking dad up from work. It was a long 11 hour trip. But we finally made it to some very excited cousins!
We hung out, played and ate!
Sunday morning we loaded up and drove into Oakland to see the temple. What a view to look over all of Oakland and we even got a glimpse of Bay Bridge. The visitor center was really nice and we enjoyed a film all about families! After a fun photo op session in front of the temple, we headed back so we could get to church for Caroline's blessing.
Caroline is the sweetest little baby girl and we all loved getting to meet her and snuggle her.
Jared gave her a beautiful blessing!
(this post is a small highlight of all the pictures taken)

Monday morning we were up and running..
The Lucas kids went to school and we, with Pat and Steve went into San Francisco!
Wow! What a city! First stop was Fishermans Wharf. The sea lions were the best! So noisy and so many on the docks! We then made plans to ride the cable cars! A true highlight of the trip! The streets of San Francisco are so steep, and it was fun seeing some of the city that way! We rode into central square, then rode it back... Super fun!
We grabbed a burger and In and Out, then went back to the pier to get tickets for a bridge to bridge boat tour. The tour was 2 hours long. It as a little long, but fun to have head sets on and listen about the history of the Golden Gate bridge, Bay bridge, Alcatraz as well as the city.
We did a little souvenir shopping then drove Lombard Street, the windiest rode in the world, then over the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir woods.
Muir woods was awesome! We could have spent so much more time there, but we were getting tired and hungry...
It was a quick drive thru China town, then we headed back to the house!
It was such a fun day!
Tuesday...
Beach Day!
Today the Lucas kids missed school to hang out with us, and we headed to the beach! It was a little over cast and a little chilly, but that didn't stop us from having fun in the ocean together!
Kara and Aubree had a blast on the boogie boards. Drew and I also took a turn to ride a few waves in!
We ended the day at a board walk (for the life of me I can't remember which one) but it had a huge amusement park on it.. So the kids all got to choose one ride to do, and then we found a Chilli's to eat at before heading home.
Wednesday, we didn't really have anything big planned. The kids were back at school. So we cleaned Alex's house a bit, went to the outlet malls for a little bit, and then went and drove down town Pleasanton. It is a cute little town. We had some ice cream form a small drive up store, and tried to stay dry from the rain.
After the kids got home from school, we played a little, had pizza for dinner then hit the road to break up our drive home, by going as far as Reno for the night.
Thanks again to the Lucas family for letting us crash at their house.
A trip we will never forget!
Cousins do make the best of friends!
