Back in 2011 we tore out the flooring and put in Oak Hardwood floors... It was finally time to change the cupboards...
Here are some before pictures...
We took all the door and drawers off and made a work station in the garage.
The de-glossing and painting began. We went with a Rustolium Cabinet Transformation kit.. It came with everything we needed. Now it just would take time..
We stared with one coat of white, then two, and finally added one more...
A huge thank you to Drew's mom and all her painting help.
It was actually nice having all the doors off for a week or so.. we commented a lot on how it was nice to get things out of the cupboard without having to open a door..
It also got me organizing all the stuff that we have (and throwing a bunch away too) YAY!
Once the paint was dry, I applied the gel stain, and wiped it off to get the desired look. It was a fun project that took me 2 days (drew was on shift) I felt like they were all pretty even and the same.. now that they are back in the kitchen, there area few that are darker than what I would like, but I can't change them now... so we go with it!
We then finally chose a wall paint color... on the swatch it was gray.. but on the walls, it is a light blue.. but I love the grayish- blue color!
It has taken a while to figure out back splash.. and that is a long story in itself... (ask me sometime)
but we went with tin, and it is painted the wall color..
Last will be knobs and handles for the doors... (when we can make a decision)
