End of School Craziness!

First day of school....
Last day of school...
Yep- they grew up a little bit!

Kara had a great 8th grade year! She served faithfully as the National Junior Honor Society President! She had an award assembly as received certificates for:  a 4.0, 3.5-3.9 for all 3 years at MMS, Responsibility and Excellence!
She made the A team in VB, and also the A team for Tennis! She and her partner in tennis were 2nd in districts! Yippe! They were so fun to watch!
She also had a piano recital where she played "Imagine" by John Lennon
It challenged her, but she did a great job!
Kara also had and end of year choir Pop's concert. The theme for the girls was Wicked and Wizard of Oz. It was such a fun concert and all the girls were dressed like munchkins.
Kara had a huge solo (a bigger solo than I thought.. she kinda kept it a secret from us) from the song "For Good" from Wicked!  She rocked it and made us so proud!
Way to go Kara!
now off to High School!

Aubree was so nervous to go to Middle School!
Totally different from the comforts of elementary... to 5 different buildings and a long class schedule of black and gold days to keep track of.
She took the challenge whole heartedly and did nothing but her best work!
She also achieved a 4.0 gpa and received two Pride awards for: Excellence and Perseverance!
She made the A team on tennis and ended up getting 3rd place in districts! YAY! It was so fun watching her play!

Braelyn had a great 3rd grade year! I can't believe she only has 2 more years in elementary school. She loved her teacher and always did her best. She had great growth in her state testing and received Academic Excellence Award.
She has been taking piano and is doing well so far! She decided to try out of the talent show, and she made it in! She played Somewhere Over the Rainbow! She did such a great job!
Way to go Brae!

Hallie finished first grade with flying colors! She of course had the best teacher in the world! Mrs. T. She was given the Spree Award from her little class graduation! She has loved making new friends and has become a great little reader!
Like said before, she loved dance and was sad to see it end. For her last class, they were able to dress in any costume they wanted...

Kara and I were photobombed while trying take a selfie...

So May in a nut shell...
3 award assemblies, piano recital, talent show, 2 class graduations, dance recital, NJHS night, 16 year anniversary, Young Women's activities, plus the normal everyday things to take care of...
Yep, we are ready for summer!
Trek is coming up.. so we took these crazy Beehives to Table Rock to get their bodies in shape! It was a fun and beautiful morning!

catching up

Yep- I am a slacker.. but still want to hold on to these memories thru this blog. So the next few posts could be random events of the past few crazy months~

YEP... we love our tree!

Kara~ 8th grade pace!
"Does a tennis ball bounce different if the temperature of the ball is different?"
We spent a lot of April and May at the Matthews helping them their house
(back surgery/car accident slowed down the work, so we helped to keep it going)
April 28th... we said goodbye to Chevy and hello to Dodge

Hallie loved dance... and was a very cute Wild Cat for the spring recital of "Wizard of Oz"

We celebrated being in our home for 10 YEARS!
A little chocolate cake of course!
the entertainment center finally got finished...(redone) to fit the bigger tv we got for Christmas.
Drew was hired to build cabinets and shelves...
I think it turned out great! Here is a before and after....
And the homeowners love it!

The beginning of May was warm... 75 deg.. .so the girls decided it was sprinkler time!

We opened the pool on May 4th.. to get it circulating... about a week later the girls were in!
This year with our tax return we purchased a heat pump to bring the water temp up to a comfortable temp. So now our swim season will be longer! YAY!

Drew and I celebrated our 16th wedding Anniversary!
It was great! He worked and I spent the evening with a couple hundred youth learning dances for Trek!
Maybe next year we will be able to plan a trip away!

Spring Break 2015

We were all ready for spring break to come... to be able to sleep in and not have a schedule was so nice. The girls were all so good and had fun together... I love these moments!
We took the girls to explore Jump Creek Falls, in Marsing. It was about an hr drive and a short hike to the falls.. But we basically had the place to our selves for the first hour or so... The hike to the falls is pretty quick, but along the way we found lots of placed to explore.

We went back to the truck for a quick lunch, then hiked the higher trail to see the falls from above.

These crazy girls love having their pictures taken...
We spent one day out to star with gma and gpa...
while there we had to go and see the neighbors baby horse.

Friday of Spring Break we decided to splurge and take the kids to Wahooz...
We raced the go-carts, golfed, rode the bumper boats and played the arcade games. It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun together as a family!

During the week we also spent a lot of time at the tennis courts... Kara and Aubree have improved so much this year and it is really fun to watch them play. They have both made the Middle school A team. It will be fun to watch them as they learn and progress more in this sport.
We are so glad that winter is over and spring is here!
