KNEES!

Friday the 13th Drew had surgery done on his knees through arthroscopy. He had been to see the surgeon only one week prior, so it came upon us pretty quick.  He had a few cartilage tears and floaters that needed to be cleaned up. Surgery took about 1 1/2 hours.  Braelyn and I took him in, and left before we went back to be prepped... because Brae had been throwing up that morning and had to stay home from school.
I sent Drew's dad to pick him up, so that I could be home with Brae, and get the others home from school.
The girls were excited to see him when he got home- he got  a few high fives from Hallie before she left to have a sleep over at grandma's.
He was a good patient and spent a two days elevated with ice.

Saturday afternoon he was able to remove his bandages. Which felt really nice and cool.

At one week post surgery- he has a nice big bruise and still has stitches in... they will be removed Tuesday. He is feeling good- a little soreness, but going up and down the stairs is already feeling better than pre-surgery. He as ridden the bike a little- which he says feels good. It has been fun having him around so much. But I think if he is released, he will be back to work next week...

Visitors!

Aug 22-25 Grandam and Grandpa Roll came to visit us!
We had such a great weekend with them. They were a huge help with the luau, we shopped, we went bowling, swam, and had our first night swim with the girls.  They were able to spend time in the Boise Temple, and Brad helped Drew add a few electrical outlets to the house.

We also spent time in Star with Pat and Steve, had a great dinner, and had fun in the yard.

How often do you get to be together with both sets of Grandparents...
What blessed girls these are to have such wonderful grandparents!

Our next visitors came Labor Day weekend.
My Brother Dallin, and Sister Jodi, were so nice to take the time to come see us...
I think it was a good get away for them.
We started out our fun with going  to the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic.
It was a little chilly, but so fun!

We then went to express cafe in Meridian for breakfast!
Good thing Kara and Brae shared.. that pancake was huge!

We then weren't quite sure what to do... I think it was Drew that suggested the river.... The girls have been wanting to go for a while, and it just didn't work out before school started. So they were excited to do the trip down..
It was  a great day on the water and we all had fun!
After the river we stopped at Powells candy shop- It is the best candy shop around, but expensive.  We then came home and jumped in the pool and had a nice BBQ dinner, and sent Dallin on a blind date! He was able to take Steve's Miada on the date, and was pretty excited to be driving such a cool car... I told him he looked like mister incredible.

Monday Morning we played tennis, and went to lunch before they hit the road. We are thankful for our extended family and that they will take the time to visit us. Those two weekends were a great end to our summer fun!
